The ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) held a productive engagement meeting with the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) at MACRA’s Chichiri Head Offices in Blantyre, aimed at strengthening collaboration and advancing Malawi’s ICT sector.

During the meeting, ICTAM President Mr. Clarence Gama outlined the Association’s key strategic priorities for the year. These include contributing to the development of the National Artificial Intelligence Policy, supporting the formulation and review of ICT-related policies and procedures, and playing an active role in driving national digital transformation.

MACRA’s Acting Director General, Mr. Mayamiko Nkoloma, acknowledged ICTAM’s strategic importance within Malawi’s ICT ecosystem and encouraged the Association to further amplify its voice in advocating for improved quality of service across the sector. He emphasized the need for strong collaboration between regulators and industry stakeholders, particularly in addressing emerging challenges such as mobile money fraud and other issues affecting both consumers and service providers.

The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment between MACRA and ICTAM to work closely in building a robust, secure, and inclusive ICT sector, aligned with Malawi’s broader development and digital transformation goals.
